Health insurance in Korea (NHIS)
In Korea: see a clinic (의원) first, then take the prescription to a pharmacy nearby. Emergency: 119.
Most registered foreigners are enrolled automatically after 6 months in Korea (mandatory). From entry: F-5, F-6, D-2, D-4-3, E-9. If you work for a company, you are usually insured through your employer. Unpaid premiums are checked at visa extension. Help: 033-811-2000 (en, zh, vi, uz).
No insurance? A state program (외국인근로자 등 의료지원사업) helps foreign workers, marriage migrants (before naturalisation), refugees and their children: 90% of inpatient/surgery costs, up to 3 million KRW per case, more in some programs (in Korea over 90 days). Apply directly at a participating hospital.
In Ansan
Participating hospitals in Ansan (list 11/2024, may have changed): Handoh (한도병원), Danwon (단원병원), KWC Ansan Hospital (근로복지공단 안산병원). The Wongok public health office is free for foreign workers (limited services).

Bring a parent's ID and the child's vaccination book. Child vaccinations: 031-481-6471. Other vaccines: weekdays 9–11 and 13–15. BCG (TB, newborns): Wednesday 9–11 by booking, 031-481-6475~6. In Choji-dong next to Danwon-gu Office (단원구청), not walkable from Wongok – take a bus.
